Using HDR In A Wrong Way

Ok first things first: I hate HDR - it makes my eyes bleed. Or most of it. People just dont seem to know how to use it in a settle way. But then I stumbled this set of images by Flickr user avaviel, including short how-to text to creating it. Some of the stuff look like film double exposure, and what I like is digital looking analog.
